I’ve got a new rebuilt engine & all the shops around me don’t have an alignment tool for a 1997. I really don’t wanna pay 200 for something I’ll use for 10 minutes. Is there other alternatives or ways to properly align an engine? I know some guys say they don’t use one but I really don’t want any damage to my engine after paying for it to be rebuilt. Thanks

You can't align an engine without the tool. It won't even be close. I've tried more than once just to see what I could do and each time it was a mile off. Whatever you do, align the engine properly as it is the surest way for long engine life.

You can try posting where you live someone nearby may have the tool. Good Luck !!

To get you close to where you won't have an issue take jet pump apart get a piece of straight rod the same size as impeller shaft.turn the motor side down to size of drive shat spines and line it up using the pump.
