Hey all, I have a 96' Sea-Doo XP 800, and I bought it non-running. I bought with a known electrical problem. My first thought was a stator which turned out to be junk anyways, but once changed, was not the problem. I'm now assuming that it's a CDI. I found a motor-less 96' Sea-Doo that is the exact same body. The guy is unsure of what motor it had, but it has all electricals. It has the same-looking electrical box, with the MPEM key. If it isnt a 800, then will the CDI still interchange. Even if maybe the timing is a little off, just trying to get it ready for memorial day weekend.
I'm used to sleds, and with my Ski-Doo the MPEM would allow the sled to start, but not go if the key was not fully attached. Would the MPEM cause it to turn over with no spark?
Thanks in advance
