1996 xp mpem for a 1997 Gtx

Can a mpem be used from an xp 800 on a gtx 800? i understand that the xp has vts which will not be connected when installed on the gtx. Will it otherwise function as it should in the gtx?

Tag for the answer I have 2 xp mpems but run a gtx now
