Before I buy a Candoo.

I have a working RXP SC with a working ECM only difference it has trim (label is more white in photo 664947). Can I simply install that in my GTX that something is not right wit the ECM. (more yellow label in photo 665470) Beeps sometimes and no three beeps with lanyard attached but runs normally. Really weird..

Should I flip the fuse box as well?

Thank you in advance

Marc

The gtx is a 185, the rxp is 215 so they aren't the same. However, you can switch them and it will run but not run properly. You don't need a candoo or BUDS to switch ECUs on the older 4tec models, they are plug and play as are the clusters. The mpems are the same so no need to switch unless you want to test because they do fail by doing weird things.

Sounds good, What will I need to do to make it run properly?

I know the guy I purchased it from was jumping off his car and I think that what messed up the computer. Oh yeah I forgot to say, another "weird thing" I need to disconnect the battery after every use because the electric water pump solenoid by the oil fill turns on every 15 seconds or so. which I believe is caused by the ECM issues. I am anxious to try it and see if the swap does the trick.

You better check the supercharger because it has ceramic washers and can ruin your motor. Hopefully you test rode it and it reached 69mph and 8000 rpms.
185 is way more reliable than the 215

215 is a project i made sure it had compression and all the good parts since I only paid 300 for the deal and almost left skid marks when I was leaving with excitement. It still has the original crimped clamps so I know it was never touched. Curious to see condition when I get to it.
