Drive shaft water leak

I just purchased a 1995 speedster. First time out bilge filled with water in a short time. Afert removing the water I can see water leaking in at the shaft both at the bak of the water and where it enter the hull. How difficult is the repair and how expensive? Can I do it myself as a somewhat capable auto mechanic? How much disassembly is required.
