Drive shaft leak

Water leaks from drive shaft boot area on my 2012 GTI 130. It is worst when turned off after running. What needs replacing? Thank you for your help.

Novice question, but why 12?

It's recommended in the service manual if they are deteriorated, but you won't know that until you pull it apart. They are cheap, so you might as well while you have the drive shaft out. There are two of them for you ski according to the parts manual.
