This past weekend I sucked some rope and debris from two boat crashing on the ramp. It broke the welds on the shaft cover, I have been looking and it seems the plastic versions are completely optional. Mine is stainless steel and it doesn't look like they make a replacement. Are the metal shaft covers equally as optional as the older plastic versions?
