I have a 2001 GTX DI , I recently loaned to my 26 yr old son. Called from the lake said it was taking on water in the hull when the motor was running. Got enough enough water in the hull to kill the ignition. I recently rebuilt the pump so I assumed a hose connection came loose. Got it home dried it out , ran it on a hose could'nt get it to take on water , took it to a small local pond tried everything short of turning it upside down to take on water, no water in the hull. noticed a little bit of cavitation that wasn't ther after pump rebuild. Also at 150 hrs a have a maintence light, is that an automatic light or do I have another problem ?

The light is automatic. While the MAINT light is on... hold the ok/enter button. (Don't remember the label on that one) It will reset in 3 to 6 seconds.

The water issue........

Most of the time... on a hose... you don't get enough pressure to see the leak. You need to ride it (or hit the throttle while on the trailer, but in the water) to get enough pressure to see the leaks.

"SET" will reset the MAINT.

it takes a LOT of hard riding to get water deep in a GTX. are you sure he didn't leave a drain plug out? I've been riding since I was 10... so that's now 18 YEARS of riding a GTX, and I've only been able to get massive water in it by pulling the reverse at speed, flipping it repeatidly, or losing a drain plug (thing fell out!)
