50 bucks for a snow ski....pretty good deal esp since you got it running already.
Post a pic if you can.

Well that will take two things, one to get a clear shot in the mess I call a garage, and two my ability to get it online. I will have to get my computer wise grandkids to post the picture. Gotta tell you, got it running and the neighbors thought the garage was on fire because of all the smoke. Paid $50.00 for the sled, $30.00 for an ignition switch, go figure!!

Just fgured out if I have your email adress, I can send you a picture without getting the kids involved. This is going to be a Christmas present for the thirteen year old; my oldest grandson just got back from Afganistan and is at Ft. Polk, La. in the Army.

OK PM will be sent.

But i know what you mean by all the smoke. I used to have a Polaris TX340 and every fall I would start her up in the drive and the smoke would just pour out of it. I don't recall it smoking bad while riding it though.

Question - how do you buy/sell something without a Title?
Does someone lose it somewhere down the line of ownership?

So, if you buy w/o a title, what do you have to do to get it registered? How do you prove that it isn't stolen by the PO?

Generally you can buy anything without a title, however the state will require a title to register and license the vehicle. If you are going to use it in a private lake or pond you don't need a license.

It varies from state to state as far as proof of ownership. In Ky it's a long process but you can get a "junk title" to dispose of the property, either sell for parts or destroy, and in most cases if you can show ownership you can get the junk title converted to a new title.

Generally it would be easier to find the last known owner or heir of the owner and have the original title transferred to you, the state will however require the purchaser (you) to pay unpaid property tax for the years the vehicle went unregistered.

So if you purchase a vehicle with out a title it's buyer beware, you are taking a chance that you may not be able to license the vehicle. If you are considering purchasing something without a title I would contact your state DMV and find out about the process.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything without a title unless it was a bargain and the worst case could be parted out to recoup the money spent. Or I was not planning on licensing it.

Yep the no title thing is a biggie here in KY! I'm going to look for a cheap stand up or x2 myself to play around on if I don't end up finding a HX.

@Seadoobuddy, Got the Arctic Cat running smooth, one pull start with the new primer system and ski skins on order. Now it probably will not snow at all this winter, let's hope so! I had a '89 Kaw stand up on the line and offered they guy $75.00 less than he was asking and he declined, now he is advertising for my offered price. I'm going back and offer $75.00 less again, something doesn't seem right with this deal. Buyer beware maybe!

Huh....... I don't even know what a 300sx is??? What's this got to do with this thread, it's almost a year old.
