Does adding a second battery have a severe impact on my charging system?

I'd like to add a second battery, for stereo, redundant batteries for starting (if needed) etc.

Will the addition of the second battery burn up my stator/magneto?

Cheers!

Yeah it wont hurt it. Mine is on its 3rd season and still going strong. With just a radio and no amp you dont need it though. I initially had the amp and the whole system with a single battery and it was fine. I just carried a jump pack just in case but never needed it. I still carry it just in case and i use it for other boats all the time but never mine.

Nice! I've been comtemplating on a second battery with a sweet sound system or a Monster Wake tower .... Now that I finally have trouble free rig. Last couple years have been engine replacements and carb/fuel delivery issues.

Do you guys find you use your audio equipment much? This aren't the quietest beasts on lake ... LoL

I use mine a lot. I just did my first lake trip this past weekend. We tend to sit on the water a lot. We tie up 3 or 4 boats and just float around drinking adult beverages. I am usually the juke box for the group. I can sit for hours and not worry about the battery situation.

System is a must!!!.. Mine had nothing when I got it. It's very deflating listening to the waves lap the hull. Plus the wake boats get envious when you have bass.
