Does a 650x exist? Or is it 657?

There's an engine on eBay listed as a 650x I need a 657x. Is there such a thing as a 650 or is the guy mistaken? I asked him and I don't think he understood me but just replied that it was an X engine and 80hp.

I thought I had found a motor locally but it turned out to be a standard (non x) version.

Yes, the 650 and 650X are two different engines and not all parts interchange.
Right but my question is -is there a 650 or are they all actually 657. On my motor it says 657x but this guy is selling one that looks like mine and saying it's a 650x I just want to make sure it's the same motor as mine before buying it.

650 is the slang for the seadoo 657's. The actual cubic centimeters are 650 and seadoo engine plates are stamped 657 or 657X.

Just like the Seadoo 720 is actually 718cc, the 580 is actually 581cc.
But seadoo is also weird in that their internal codes for the engines are different so what they call a 717 is known as a 720 but measures 718. So you can see why it is so confusing.
