Do they make Ipod docks for boats?

Obviously they have Ipod docks for home, work, etc. I'm looking to get some music on the boat and really just want to eliminate a head unit. I simply just want a dock for the Ipod and run speakers straight from there to the boat. I have found some set-ups on ebay that include a little amp. These set-ups are from China and I'm not looking to be ebaying things out of China because I just don't trust it. To me this is an easier way of doing things since we pretty much only use our Ipod anyway. I know head units have inputs for Ipods but what's the point of spending money for a head unit just to play your Ipod. Has anyone come across anything similar out there? I haven't heard much talk about it anywhere but with the world being an Ipod world, I'm hoping there is something for boats.

I dont think you will get enough juice to make it work just from ipod to speakers. You need an amp. I wouldnt do it myself. I prefer to hve the head unit. But it shouldnt be a problem though if you choose to do it this way. They make an adapter from headphone type plug to RCA plug. you could just use one of those to go into an amp.

Looks good SSmedt. RFoster pretty much summed up what I'm looking to do. I'd like to mount the Ipod somewhere in the storage above the steering wheel. I want to go from there to probably a small amp and to speakers. That would be simple enough to work for me.
