display screen goes out on my 2002 gtx 4 tec..

Hey everybody just bought my first seadoo, i bought a 2002 gtx 4 tec. When i first go out on it after a minute or two my i get a beep and my display screen goes out and my speedo doesn't work, the machine still runs fine?? Then the display screens comes back on and it's fine??ANy ideas??

Thaat sounds like its shorting to me. follow the wiring from the cluster to the fuse box. I'll bet your getting pinched somewhere along the way, probably in the front storage cover.

hey guys well im having the same thing beeps twice and then a long beep but the ski is running fine just the speedometer is dead at first it was a fuse changed it rode it cleaned it took it out and is dead again but it ain't the fuse? any ideas

Check where the harness plugs into the fuse box (MPEM..next to battery) for corrosion. If OK then remove the gauge by gently popping it out the front. It is mounted in a rubber grommet. Check connection at the back of the gauge. Next, check gauge for moisture inside...they had a problem with that. There is probably water inside the gauge traveling around causing a intermittent short.
