Display Gauge on 99 GSX Limited dead, or can it be saved?

I have a 1999 GSX Limited with a malfunctioning display gauge. It just constantly displays garbled numbers and figures (see attachment).

Can I do something that can potentially revive this display and get it working again?

Or is it pretty much dead and the only thing to do now is to buy a new (or used) one to replace it?

Thanks!

All you can do is to try to dry it out. But... there is a good chance that it's done.

Carefully, cut it open, and clean the guts.

You might get lucky by cleaning the contacts inside. I think you can open it from the back to get to those connectors if I remember correctly.

If you end up needing one I got a good one available.

Bumping this old thread because I finally got around to getting a replacement gauge. I never tried to troubleshoot this gauge as I don't know anything about this stuff.

I was surprised to see how expensive these gauges are so I figured I should check to see if a used gauge not currently working might still have some value. Maybe someone could potentially use it for parts...or might think they can fix it?

Do these types of things typically have any value?

Thanks!

Update:
I listed it on eBay here, and it already has a bid. So if anyone has any of these old LCD Gauges, it might be worth listed on eBay.
