I am relatively new to seadoo jet boats and purchased a boat that has not been used since July of 09. I drained the fuel and replaced with fresh gas, changed the plugs and the machine is still "sputtering" with minor surging at idle speeds. Once I get on the throttle and give it some gas, no problem. Could this be the result of a dirty fuel filter?

Spark Plugs

Yes I changed the plugs and replaced existing gas with fresh gas prior to putting the machine in the water.

Since it was sitting for about a year... and since it's injected... I would pour in fuel injection cleaner. I'm not a fan of using stuff like that... but you could have a varnished up injector tip. With a DI eninge... there could be a bunch of stuff wrong.

If that doesn't help... you should check the fuel pressure next. And if that's ok... you may have to take it to a dealer to have the read the sensors on their diagnostics computer.
