Hi,
I purchased a '97 GTI with 106 hours back in February and I have had it out a few times this season and it runs great. Other than a small burble at the very bottom of the throttle it runs great. Just for reference before I took it out this season I had a new battery, replace the fuel and oil filters, changed the injection pump oil, and gave everything a good once over and clean with YAMAHA bilge cleaner.

I am having an issue after the ski is rolled over. Twice now after I have turned the thing over I right the ship the proper way follwoing the sticker on the back of the hull and it takes a few minutes to start. The first time I was low on fuel so I figured what little gas was left just got sloshed around. Yesterday I had over a half a tank and it still wouldn't start. After about 5 minutes of on and off attempted starts with breaks in between it finally will painfully start and it takes a bit for it to clear it's throat and be normal again. I did roll it a third time yesterday but got to it really quickly and got it over and it started right up with only a little bit of complaining.

Compression was checked at the begginning of the season and was good. Spark plugs replaced at that time.

Thanks,

Jason

Even if you turn it over the right way... the engine can still get a "Mouth Full" of water. When that happens... it will be hard to start. I know out in the water it's not always possible... but pulling the spark plugs, and wiping them dry will normally get it to fire quickly.

I carry a lighter in my dry box that way I can pull plugs, blow them off and heat them up a bit to dry them out. a little cranking with them out can expell water from the cylinders too, you just have to manage the extra fuel in the cylinders.
