i just bought this 95 speedster, it has twin rotax 85hp motors i have to run premix in it b/c previous owner took out oil pumps, so i run 50:1 and plugs are tan after running it so its a good burn mix. Anyways i will go to take off and the left motor dies, but if i take of and pull choke quick and push it run in as fast as i can it will rev right up and run fine, i was woundering what causes that also i noticed if im not on full throttle or at an ideal the rpms differ from left to right motor n e ideas thanks all!!

The carbs need cleaned.

Just to ask... since the boat is running premix fuel... is the oil tank still in the boat?

thanks thats kinda what i was thinking but im new to this jet boat thing so ill have to dog into the carbs now. Also yes the previous owner told me to keep the tank in and keep a little oil in it to keep something lubricated??? not sure but ill do what he told me he has it for seven years like that lol thanks again

Good.

Yes, you need the oil to lubricate the rotary valve gears.

The reason I asked is because there have been several new members who have gone to pre-mix, and removed the tank. In turn... they killed the engine because of lack of lubrication to the gears.

Clean the carbs, and you will be fine.
