It thinks it's overheating, if it's a continuous beep.

If you know it's not hot... pull the wires off the top of the heads.

One thing... do you have an oil or fuel light on?

This happens before the motors even start...about 30 or 40 secs and then it goes off..
When you go and start the motors..it comes on steady..

In the book it saying ..improper operation of MPEM..

I have no lighting on the dash at all just gauges

Would it be because I charged the battery while still in the boat?

Should I just buy a new MPEM?

If the engine will start... the MPEM is good. Besides... if you can find one... it will be over $600.

Pull the wire off the top of the head, and try it.

I will try that..I also have the Shop Manual from Mike..

Thanks Guys for your help.. I'll
Let you know how it turns out..

It is probably a bad sensor. If it starts, your mpem should be ok. As long as you have oil and fuel, then the temperature sensor is probable bad. As the good Dr. says, pull the wire off the sensor and see if that stops it. If it does, then the temperature sensor is bad.
