I plan on putting together a more comprehensive post later today once I figure out a few things but I was hoping to get a head start with this problem now.
I have a 2002 Sea Doo GTX 4Tec that I'm trying to get running for my FIL so he can sell it. A while back a local shop replaced the DESS Post, MPEM and a bunch of other things to get it running. The replaced it with used parts off another ski they were parting out. We took it out twice and it ran fine until the wear ring disintegrated. I wasn't able to get to it for a few months due to personal reasons. Flash forward to now where I replaced the wear ring and a reverse cable. When I first put it together it started up first try with no problems whatsoever. I put my tools away and hooked it up to the hose to run it for a while and nothing would happen.
No double beep, nothing from the gauges, nada. So I unhooked the battery and started checking fuses. After pulling and reinserting all the fuses on 1 bank, I tried to start it again. It started right back up but my gauge cluster wasn't operable (not sure if it was like this on the initial startup or not). I let it run for 5 minutes. Then I shut it off, and then tried starting it again. Seem fine. Later yesterday I tried again and nothing. No beep/no start. Same with this morning.
Could it be the key? I would hate to spend all this money on a MPEM and DESS post again if that's not the issue. Any other suggestions? Where should I buy a key?
