I just picked up An 05 GTX Wave. They gave me a key with it. The guy said the key switch had issues so I bought a new one. When I put the key on, I get one beep and the 4 short beeps for a bit. I did notice that the start/stop switch seems to be stuck down. Would this give me the one beep? Should I change that start switch?? Please help.

You need to get 2 beeps or it will never start. The one beep means low battery, wrong key, or communication problem with the ECU. All the start buttons feel stuck down like that and usually work fine but you have to press pretty hard. Does the engine turn over when you jump the solenoid?

I did not jump the solenoid yet. I see people send out their pcm to get reprogrammed to a new key. It is 15 years old, maybe the key is shot?

It's possible but they are pretty reliable. Make sure they are clean and push on quickly and firmly.

Jump the solenoid is next step.
