Anybody been able to disconnect the dess on a Speedster 150

When you push the stop button the dess keeps bipping at you. VERY annoying when you stop the engine to pick up a skier and you have to disconnect the lanyard all the time.

No the boat is not stolen. I have only just bought it.

Thanks Pete

As far as I know... once the DESS has been activated... it can't be turned off. To have a non DESS boat... you would need a new MPEM, and install it without programming the first key. (Expensive) But regardless... the lanyard would still have to be on the post to turn on the electronics... and it's still going to beep at you when the engine is off. It's just now, it will start with any lanyard.

The reason it beeps is so you don't leave your lanyard in the boat when you park it. (it's a safety feature)

When you pick up your skier... if you are killing the engine... pull the lanyard instead of pushing the stop switch.

uf you are that annoyed by it, others on here have put tape over the beeper or disconnected it.
