Defective Fuel Gauge on 1997 seadoo xp jet ski

I have a defective fuel gauge in my 1997 seadoo xp jet ski. Pulled the gauge out and bench tested it. When i supplied voltage and ground directly to the gauge the needle moved up and the low oil light went on. Is there any way to test sending unit without pulling it out of fuel tank? Any help would be appreciated.

Checked manual. didnt give any info on testing sending unit. Seems like you have to pull engine to remove fuel tank. Is that true?

I would have to look at the man, but it is in there.

Also test wire going to baffle OHM meter...reads infinite-bad fuse
reads 85-bad float

Thanks for your help. Is there any way to remove sending unit from tank with out moving engine? Man its tight.

never worked on xp

I have GTX's. Just pull the baffle (sending unit).

This is an xp. Not that easy. No room to simply pull out sending unit. Thanks again. I do appreciate your help.
