What is the average dealer cost to replace a wear ring? I have a 2001 Sportster and debating if I do myslef or have the dealer do it as I understand there is a special tool required to remove the impeller?

Yep... no reason to let the dealer do it. The tool is $10 to $20... a ring will be $35 to $50... and a neoprene gasket is $6. (depending where you buy them)
Most dealers are up to $85/hr these days, and they will mark-up the parts.
The Sportster with the 951 uses a slightly different looking neoprene seal. You want 293200051. It's more like a ribbed o-ring. That is of course, if your Challenger has a 951.
Thanks for all the replies. I was planning to do myself as I figured dealer would be way too much... Had it been one hour labour then maybe. I will pull the pump off this weekend to see if I need anything else. Then next month I am going to Florida for work so will go to SBT to pick up parts and removal tool. Anything else I should replace while I have the pump out? other than the oil of course.
The only other thing too look at is the carbone ring. The wear ring is not that hard. After the pump is out its like 20mins of work. After you saw saw the old ring and pull it out the OEM should slide right it with no isses. Use a 2x4 and hammer and your done. It take longer getting the pump and impeller off than swaping the ring.
