cylinder base gasket

Do i really need to seal my cylinder base basket with sealant? i put my exhauset gaskets on dry and they dont leak.

also, whats a good procedure to put the sealant on the cylinder base gasket ? put the cylinders over the pistons then put on the sealant ?

No sealant is used on the base gaskets or the exhaust gaskets, they go on dry.
