Now that the 4th has come n gone its time to install the crankshaft in the case and close it up so this White Man can take his Doo's to da River and have sum fun.

B4 I do that, however, I have three (3) simple questions regarding greasing the seals on the crankshaft:

1. My Clymer's Manual (Snipe, I'm trossin' it after this project) instructs to fill the "cavity. of each seal," however, it does not provide an example.

I am assuming that the "cavity" Clymer's refers to is the concave side of the seal (the side facing the bearings when installed), this I am supposed to put grease inside the concave side of the seal. In other words, "fill up the cavity!"

FYI/SEE PHOTOS: (The crankshaft seals are concave on one side (photo 262) and flat on the other side. (photo 263))

2. However, my SD Manual instructs to lubricate the "lip" of the seal, but does not explain where the "lip" is, thus, I don't know what the "lip" of a seal is, or where it is. If it is the inner diameter, which makes sense to me, then, couldn't I simply grease the shaft and slide the bearing on?

3. Can I use lithium grease with MOLLY, or does the grease have to be Mollyless, i.e., lithium only?

H E L P!
