A poster wrote about rebuilding a crankshaft on the forum so I am hoping someone can help with info and input. Does anyone sell the bearings and seals as a kit? I am trying to determine if the savings would be significant enough to make it worthwhile. I think if the price was around $150 for parts it would be attractive. I could probably source the bearings. Not having done this previously does one replace the connecting rods automatically or just inspect? Input is appreciated.

I'm not to sure how you would go about it but there is rebuild kits available on ebay (link at the bottom)
I think you will need a hydraulic shop press with various bearing race pullers. not a job for just any DIY enthusiast. I've never done it myself maybe someone with first hand experience can chime in.

Interested in seeing a step by step process.

Yes thanks. Those are the kits and prices I 'm finding. not enough savings to be attractive to me.

Not only that, truing and balancing a multi cylinder 2-stroke crankshaft is kind of an art.

I have a long time friend that built all kind of specialized race bikes. Just asked I if I wanted to do some cranks. So I"m thinking about it. The parts are way to expensive to make it worth my while. If I sourced what I needed from vendors I could probably save some $$. I've read posts on this board where buys did a crank with nothing much in the way of special tools.. We have all that stuff and I we don't I can make it. LOL I've found though... getting good prices from vendors is much more cost effective.

Just a note: WSM cranks had a pretty big increase recently. Probably since Seadoo isn't making certain cranks any longer.
