Crankcase Interchangability (587/657/717)?

I have a 717 motor that has many things wrong with it, so it's a rebuild candidate. The problem is that one of the bolt bosses is broken off on the lower half of the crankcase, so it looks like I may not be able to use it as my core.

When searching for possible salvage crankcases, I see quite a few 587's, 657's, and 717's so I'm wondering if the crankcases are interchangeable among these engines (as are some of the other parts).

Anyone know?

If you only have a busted of bolt boss... get someone to weld it back on. Not a big deal.
