Hi, I'm looking at buying a 95 speedster from a friend. All in all its in good condition. What happened here is we brought the boat out of storage & started cleaning it up, and I think water was shot directly up the water intake line during rinsing. It was about 3 days ago... I didnt realy think on it till today... but could this be a real problem?
I dont think it was alot but could it have gotten into the engine? I plan on dropping the batteries back in in the morning & pulling the spark plugs to see if i have water in it, & if not firing it up. (done alot of maintenance on it the past few days) Maybe i'm paranoid but better to be safe than being on dry land during the summer. Any help appreciated!!

Water in an engine 24 hours can rust the raw metals like crankshaft jounals, ect. Suggest you mix some gas & oil 32:1 and squirt some
in the *plug holes in morning start attempt.

or, remove the airlid(held in by snaps), and pour some premixed gas onto the screen. This will allow gas to get into the bottom end, if waters there, and help expel/lube things up.

If you just left the water on for 5 sec after the engine was off it will likely be fine...it was hard to understand what you were describing.
