coolant out stern tube

On my 94 SPX coolant does not come out of the small outlet below the tow eye at the rear of the PWC. A tube from the center of the cylinder head feeds it and the manual cautions not to operate unless coolant is being pumped out there. I had an independent shop keep it for a week and they tried everything they could think of and nothing worked...no charge. When they hooked a hose to the flush fitting at the rear of the engine the engine ran cool and the exhaust hot. In the test tank the exhaust ran cool and the engine ran hot. It seems to run fine but I don't want to destroy it by overheating it. Any clues?

The pee hole on the back should also be hooked to a hose out the top of the pipe. (2 pissers on your ski)

First, I would check over all the cooling lines to make sure they are hooked up properly. Then, I would take them off one at a time, and check for an obstruction. Also, blow out everything with compressed air.

But... since your pipe is hot... something is plugged, and yes... you can destroy your engine. A hot pipe will cause the engine to run lean, and could melt things in the ski since it's in a very confined space.

Here is how I addressed the problem. There is one pee hole on the '94 type 657 'doo running from an elbow fitting at the front of the head through a small clear hose to an exit below the tow eye. There is also a larger, 1/2 inch or so hose from the rear of the head to an outlet to the right of the jet outlet. Due to the larger hose, there is very little pressure in either. The smaller hose was quite long and looped up high in the engine compartment. I reasoned that there might not be enough pressure to push water out it. I cut about eight inches off the smaller hose. The problem seems to be solved. I ran the 'doo and came back and the head was cool enough to put my hand on it.

Thanks to all for the input.
