I'm going to change the coolant this weekend and I'm leaning toward changing the clamps (due to corrosion) on the two hoses at the rear of the hull that attaches to the ride plate via the plastic fittings. What type of stainless steel clamps would you recommend or should I go with the original spring type clamps?

Pretty sure the two hose nipples are plastic, so don't get too squirrely with the torque. I'd go with the worm clamp style probably, but not one that's too large for the OD thus won't clamp the circumference evenly.

I've not done this before.

Got the rusty spring clamps off. You are correct, the nipples are plastic. Will install the tridon clamps and service the coolant system tomorrow. Thanks for the advice on installation of the clamps.

Completed the installation using the tridon clamps. I attempted to reused the spring clamps and both clamps snapped with minimum pressure.

Also, do you think it's ok to operate the engine with the coolant level just below the max line? This is the level it settled at after 2 ~ 3 minutes of idling on the stand. Before I changed the coolant, the level was just the opposite above the min level.

Overall, this was a easy task.
