I have a 1992 SeaDoo XP that I have owned since new. It is not used much but has always run well. Last year and so far this year, I have a problem whereby it will start fine and run at idle speed fine but if I try to apply the throttle when cold it will bogg down. If I idle around and let it warm up (maybe 3 minutes or so) it will then run fine at full throttle. It has a manual choke that I use to start when cold. It also has black (as opposed to grey) fuel lines.

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

All jetskis need warmup time its not great on the engine just to start it and just go hauling away

I got a 1992 xp I have to warm it up also cause its a 17 year old ski and it doesnt break down as much:cheers:

It could probably use a carb and pump rebuild... but some times a carb just needs a little time to fill.

my 90 Si does it a little. If I jump on the throttle... it will die after I first start it. (after sitting for a week or more) But if I ease into the throttle... just that first time... it will run great all weekend. Even the next day... it will still be fine.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

One thing. Check you spark plugs to make sure you aren't running lean. If they look good... go ride it.
