I am having an issue with knock sensor code engine runs great but I have this knock sensor code going off . Any body else have or had this problem . I was told it was bad wire on the harness

The code comes back as "OUT OF RANGE". That is normally an indication that the sensor itself is good and something around it is causing the issue.

You will want to check all connections very well. I have read that the following can be an issue, It's the mounting point where the sensor meets the engine block.clean the mating surface, remount sensor and do a test ride..

I looked in manual and I am still having hard time finding where it is located on block . Is it on the port side of engine or the starboard side

Officially BRP calls it a "NOISE" sensor. It is item number 32 in this picture. (Lower left in the picture).

I've found a number knock sensors rattling around lose on mercruisers causing out of range high knock count, the block drain plug doubles as the sensor mounting fastener in some cases and during winterizing they occasionally forget to tighten them.

You know I finally got to looking at knock til I found out you have to pull the intake manifold and wire harness off to get to it . I wondered if any of you ever pulled a intake off a 4 tec rxt x 08 it seems like a real headache . It says in manual that you have to replace all nuts and zip ties . And you have to release fuel pressure from rail. I think I can do that with candoo home edition which I own . But what the perishable nuts and ties do you order a kit from seadoo? Also did anybody make any good how to videos. I'm gonna need all resources. Thanks any help and advice would be appreciated . The season starts for me in about a month .
