I have a 2011 SeaDoo GTI155 with 36 hours, I have the dealer service every year and shrink wrap and trickle charge battery every month.
Getting a late start this season
Took off the shrink wrap put the battery in,Checked the oil/anti freeze all is good.
Hooked the water hose up (still at home not in water).
Hit the start, the Check engine light displayed and it beeped twice, Took off the seat, check the spark plug connection, made sure they making good contact.

Tried the start engine again, Engine displayed again and beeped twice, also displayed Limp Mode.

Any suggestions? Dealer that serviced it is 2 hours away.
No issue before putting up for winter...
What would cause engine trouble just sitting for the winter? We had a mild winter in Northern Virginia, Anti freeze is good.

I just don't want to be taken advantage by the dealer if something they caused. What do I look for?

Thanks
Charlie

Did you turn the water on and THEN try to start it? If you did, it's quite likely you've got water in the engine now.

You're supposed to start the ski, THEN hook up the water.

I would guess a bad battery or bad connections.

As mentioned above, when you want to run it on the hose it goes like this...

Engine on, water on, water off, engine off..

That said, you do not need the hose as it serves no purpose other than to flush the exhaust, tunnel, and supercharger if you have one. So unless you are flushing the engine, don't bother with the hose...

On the hose or off the hose, the max out of water drive time should be no more than a minute. The reason why, the Carbon Seal runs dry anytime the ski/boat is out of the water. it ONLY gets cooling when sitting in the water.

How old is the battery? Does it have any water in it? If it's dry, it's cooked. If it's low, and over two years old it's probably time to replace it.

Just took the battery out of the seadoo...took it out of the protective case....the dealer wrote "5/2011" when it was installed....i guess I'll replace the battery and see if that corrects the problem first....
As always thanks for all the great advice....truly appreciate...
Will keep you posted ....

That battery owes you NOTHING,,,, If you get fours years you are above average. You did well.

Exactly, I just replaced one earlier this season that was shot and only a year and a half since first charge.
