Ok so let me apologize off the bat and say I'm a newbie to this forum and maintenance on ski's in general. I do a lot of work on jeeps but these are new beasts. I did try searching but couldn't find exactly what i needed. Ok so the issue! I replaced my battery after it died on the water the first time I went out this year. It was 3 years old so it was time. Everything was working great until yesterday I went out and rode the ski for several hours, everything was fine for several hours then it wouldn't start as crisply, then it didn't start at all. I brought it home and put it on the tender and this morning it started right up. I checked the voltage with a mulit-meter and it read 12+- (engine off) and with the engine idling it was 14.2+-. What gives??? It seams like it should be charging. I don't want to take it to the dealer tomorrow and have them tell me it needs $2mil in parts. Any help is appreciated thank you!

p.s. no 12v low warning at all.

In many cases, there is more than just the two main wires that go to the battery. Make sure you didn't miss a smaller wire as it if often the feed wire that does the charging of the battery. My Polaris's ski's had 2 smaller red and 3 smaller black wires. My new Seadoo's have only the two main wires but about a foot down the wire there are smaller wires that branch off to the charging mechanism.

Ya I spent some time today going through the connections making sure they were all tight. Even checking the fuses for corrosion. Still nothing, I'm going to continue tomorrow.
