I have a few more hours to go before i need to change the oil on my 08 RXT. Just wondering where the oil filter is located. I haven't even bothered to look yet but I'd like a heads up before I do it. Is there any special tools required besides the vaccum pump for the oil?

10 hour service....

Please, we've said this at least 10 times in this forum. Do not do the first 10 hour service yourself. If you do, your placing yourself at jeopardy of losing your warranty.
This service is for the dealer representatives to ensure that your motor is running according to the specifications it is suppose to. They will hook it up to B.U.D.S. and read the skis performance. I've read they even adjust the engines managment system to allow full rpm range.
If you elect to do this yourself and your engine blows 5 hours later, you will hear them say.........."oh, I don't have you on the books for your 10 hour service and now, you've got 15. The B.U.D.S. says you've been at WOT and we would have found the metal shavings had you brought it in, so.....we're not responsible for the damage YOU did!......"
Believe me..........to cover their butts and get out of replacing an engine. They'd do it in the blink of an eye. Follow your warranty recommendations for the new 2008. You had the money to buy it. You've got the money to have it serviced properly. Then, when it's all said and done, you can do your own maintenance to save a few bucks..............

:agree:...he is correct, they "will" hook it up the B.U.D.S. and look at your RPM ranges. They can see how much time is spent in each RPM range.
