Changing 1997 sea doo gsi dess key post

Is there anyway to change the dess key post without taking off the big black handlebar mount that holds the whole handlebar to the Jetski? It looks way too tight to get it through

I’m thinking to just drill a hole near where the choke and throttle cable go through and seal it

Yes, it's easy, you need to remove the pins from the plug, then with a stiff piece of wire connect to it and pull it through the steering.

Ya, but then you have to do a 180° turn back under the steering with like 1/4” to workwith, then 90° down into the hull.

I have a GSX hull, I fished 4 wires through connecting an auto/manual Rule bilge setup on the steering. It can be done, pins out the plug and fish it through one path at a time.
