Change to carbon seal?

Has anyone upgraded from the bearing carrier style to the carbon ring setup?
Not sure if it would be worth doing, or if it can be done.
I'm just considering the reliability of it and the fact that its less likely to allow the ski to sink then the carrier bearing does when failing.
I know id need a new drive shaft, carbon seal, mating flange and cabon bellow.

Actually the bearing carrier is more reliable for sitting as long as you grease it. Some people convert to the bearing from the carbon seal.
