I have a single carb style on my GTS 587 SeadDoo 3 seater and I have a Dual Carb set up off of a blown 657. I believe it will bolt up fine but my question is am I waisting my time. I would like to tweak out a little more power out of the little 587 but didnt know if the twin carb set up would be to much or make it worse.

Yes... you can do it. Just re-jet the carbs for the other engine.

I don't know how much extra HP it will give... but I'm sure it will add some.

I can't say for sure that they will fit but if they do, you should be able to dial them in and get some added ponies! I know some engines that have the exact same bore and stroke and the only difference is the carbs and they have much different hp's.
go for it if you don't mind the tinkering getting the jetting correct. Is there a source to find what the bore and stroke of the motor that the carbs came off? if so, It may give you a good starting point.
