I've been having trouble with my 95 XP 800. I came here a few days ago for some advice on my problem. After reading some posts here, it was determined that my carbs needed adjusting. So, last night I looked around at my carbs and discovered that one of the adjustment "screws" on the bottom of one of my carbs is completely missing. (see below) I am wondering what I need to do. Do I need any new parts inside of the carb? Or, is the correct screw all that I need.

I'm new to this machine so any details you can include would be great.

Thanks

I dont believe thats a fueling screw that your missing. Those needles go straight into fuel lines inside the carb, and if they were out completly youd have fuel coming from them.

think your referring to (picture), the "hole" on the pto carb. There aint nuth'n there, look at mag carb, that place, is where the idle screw goes. No need for 2-idles.

I need to find a shop manual for this thing. I'm too unfamiliar with it and its difficult to see what "is" and "isnt" just by looking. If someone could explain where the fuel jets are, that would be great. I'm guessing theres a High and Low jet on each carb!?!?

What I am talking about is, on the photo, the thumb screw behind and to the right of the cam on the throttle cable, and, adversely, the same "hole" on the other carb to the left.

"mag" / "pto" carb ... I dont know the difference.

what i mentioned, you dont have an idle adjustment on back carb(pto), but, is on the front carb(mag).

You should see a black cap on each, thats your high adjuster screw(hsa), your lsa(low adjuster), looks/has a "T" adjuster style "head" on it.

Lsa located on same side your idle screw is (picture side), hsa located at top of carbs, on other side.
