Hey guys,
Just rebuilt my carbs finally. Reinstalled them, and having the same issue as before I rebuilt them. I am getting fuel TO the carbs, but it's not cycling THRU them.
Here's what I've done so far on the fuel system:
1. Drained old premix. Refilled (half tank right now) with fresh premium and API-TC 40:1.
2. Pulled baffle and cleaned everything up on it. Wasn't very dirty to begin with.
3. Replaced all fuel lines. They were already replaced off the grey's, but I did it again anyways.
4. Added in-line fuel filter, about a foot after the outlet of the water filter.
5. Replaced fuel selector
6. Fresh rebuilt carbs
So I've pulled all lines that cycle the fuel going to the carbs, and tested them:
1. Pull main ON line of baffle, blew thru carb return line and get fuel.
2. Pulled IN line on selector, blew thru return line, and gas comes out.
3.Pulled OUT line of selector, blow thru return, gas comes out.
4. Pull OUT of water filter, blow thru return, gas comes out.
5. Pull fuel feed to carbs, blow in return line, gas comes out.
(Just to rule out fuel line circuit - gas is getting to the carbs)
So now when I plug the feed into the bottom of the carb, then blow thru the return line, It's leaking at the connection of the hose to the carb bottom nipple. I've got that damn clamp pretty tight. It won't enter into the carb.
All smaller lines of the carb were replaced with clear lines. I can see NO fuel cycling thru the carbs at all. I've kept the return line in my mouth, blowing on it, and pressing throttle, and nothing is going thru the accelerator area. When I rebuilt the carbs, I did not take apart the accelerator. Instead, I just fed it carb cleaner, and it was spraying it thru that nozzle sticking into the choke side of carb holes. So it's functioning as it should.
When I rebuilt the carbs, I made sure every single hole was free and clear. Used metal wire on all holes, and made sure carb cleaner was going all the way thru.
To verify I rebuilt them correctly, my MAG carb has the pulse inlet, with three parts to it. I rebuilt it like this:
cover>gasket>clear sheet>o-ring. Then it has a middle block with the two tiny clear circle things. After that: black film-ish gasket>pear-shaped o-ring (new fuel filter too).
All the videos I watched had them like that as well. I'm stumped here guys. Where/what else should I check?
