so after installing a 15-21 and finding out WRONG PROP
had fun for 30 minuts and ordered a 15-20, I remove the
cone to find out the O-ring had been out of the grove
and the milky greese slop was before my eyes, :leaving:
50 bucks for R & R the bearing 60 bucks in seals
three trips to and fro to the stealers 20 miles per trip :cuss:
not only will i make sure it goes on right but its RTV time

I run almost exclusively in fresh water the past few years. I run w/o a nose cone. Supposed to help holeshot and a bit on top. I do change my grease regularly.

A nose cone walking up the shaft will cost you about 1-1.5 mph at around 8100rpm...prolly more the faster you are.

with water all over your greese it dont go bad quick???

I fill my pump cone almost to the brim with marine grease....you need a bit of room to compress onto the pump.

About the front...

I've had my nose cone walk up the shaft too many times. My seal at the prop/shaft is in good shape. After a coupla days out on the water I pull my pump...rid myself of any milky grease...a finger full or two...and re-fill the cone.
