I have a 787 engine i have the oil pump out and want to install the blockoff plate but the gear wont come out can you leave the gear in and install the plate. I need to know how to remove the gear if i need to.

The gear has to come out.

To remove it... you have to take off the intake manifold. (4 bolts around the flange)

Just an FYI... you still need to leave the oil tank in the hull, and keep the hoses hooked to the center gears of the engine.

Did you have a problem with the oil injection? SeaDoo injection systems are VERY reliable, as long as they are maintained.

Tony,
He has a 787. The oil is pump on the flywheel cover at the front of the motor. His has a plastic shaft, not a gear. If the shaft is white, it will fit through the hole after removing the oil pump. If it has the new style black one, the flywheel cover will have to be removed to get at it.
