Can I use a 2004 gtx SC emm part #278001905 for my 2003 gtx sc #278002043?

I was thinking that they may be interchangeable. Same horsepower. Dealer wants $700 for the 2003 part and I have an opportunity to buy a 2004 for less than half of that. One long beep at start and blown 5 amp. I am assuming that the dealer is correct that the EMM needs replacement.

Any help???

I know think my issue may be the ECU/ECM and not the MPEM

One Long beep (with key)and it fries the 5 amp fuse. Any help to clarify this would be greatly appreciated. Even my dealer thinks it may be the MPEM but my research show it is the ECU.

Please help!!!!
