Looking at items for sale to someone that doesn’t know any better can I keep everything stock and replace the thumb throttle with the RIVA billet one?

I want to keep the stock bars and length. This is what I think is needed

1 - UMI Finger Throttle Adapter Adjuster for Seadoo - Model: SD-01530

2 - RIVA Seadoo Finger Throttle Trigger - Model: RS24010P

3 - Not sure if I need this or if there are other options to clean it up once the OEM thumb one is removed? Billet Trim handlebar Cover for finger throttle for all older Seadoo models - Model: H/ 58-1994-POL

Does this look like it will work on a 06 GTX SC? I just don’t care for the kit with the extended bars and plastic throttle. Will any PWC grips fit on the stock bars?

This is the clean way to go, and is made for the GTX as well.

PWCMuscle - Throttle Conversion Kit

Have you actually seen the kit live yourself? Here are the downsides from someone who has installed one on his own ski. The handlebar extension makes using the 2003 GTX cover unusable. I have to use an RTX cover. That makes it flappy in other areas where it shouldn't be especially for trailering. Further to that, the cover between the throttle and the handlebar cover looks really cheesy

I have not seen one of those installed. Sounds very disappointing if that was the case.

I have seen the Billet Throttle Lever which looked like a quality unit.

The lever itself was good but when you take off the thumb throttle housing, you get a cheesy looking (IMO) cover. Also, like I said, you can't use the stock cover. I am thinking of going to the billet throttle lever like what you have which might work better using the stock housing albiet cut down a little.

97 xp...

I had a 97 XP in my shop (garage) a few months ago that had the billet finger throttle. I don't know if the asthetics of it was due in part by the person who installed it, or it came that way.

I like the idea of a finger throttle, but it didn't seem to hold up well and didn't really look so good once you adapted it by removing the plastic thumb lever.

Not saying yeah or nea, but for me, it just didn't look to good....

That's what I'm still trying to work out is how to keep the opening looking clean after the stock thumb lever is removed or if I'm going to go drastic and move to MX type bars and lose all the look of stock. I saw some nice looking Pro Taper Bars at cycle gear. So the throttle that I have listed there should work fine with the cable after I add the Sea Doo adapter?
