Burnin up!

First suspect would be the cooling system. You may have some hoses or fittings plugged up with debris or sand. I put an online water filter on my skis to keep the debris out.

I no this is not what you want to hear but her it goes.
I have been burning only one rave cap on one of my engines and have put it down to the fact that the rave valve port is worn to the point the hot gases are getting passed the rave valve and melting the cap, i have replaced everything a couple of times and it still happens. I'm keeping it going until winter when i will swap the cylinder for a new one and hope that will be the end of it.

Maybe the valves are sticking. Try cleaning the slots in the cylinders. Take the head off so you can stuff a rag in to catch any debris. Then clean the slots out.

I just thought of something else. Is possible you forgot to install the new o-ring on the valve stems? If this is missing, it will definitely burn up the plastic pistons.
