Hi -

I desperatly need help -

Im running a watersport business and this boat is the key -
I have a 1999 model bombardier I beleive, twin rotax engines..
Its engines are fine, had mechanic go over and we started it.
When we towed it out of the garage, lot of water poured out the back, may have damaged/moved a wire - yet cant see where, have looked very closely..

The battery still can turn on/off the lights/bilge etc, but when I put the key in to start - nothing - dead.. no sign of life.

maybe , hopefully this is very simple problem to fix - or does anyone know if it is possible to Hot Wire these boats ?

Please some one help .

thanks for your time

Be sure the battery wire connections are clean and getting a good connection. Also check the ground going to the engine by the starter. If the battery isn't good, it should be checked with a load tester. The battery is real important for it get power to start.

maybe??

I had a similar thing happen on my 85hp. There is a fuse located inside the grey power box.

Thanks - But need little more advice

The battery was okay enough to start a Toyota Hilux 4x4 so I think there enough juice in it...

What fuse am I looking for in the grey box ? Do I need Replace it ?

When I looked inside the box, everything looked immaculate.

What is solenoid ?

Is it possible to hot wire these boats ?

Thanks.

the black box on each side of the motor, consist of the relays and solenoids. At the relay (where the red cables attach to, inside each box) theres a fuse holder, with a 15amp inside. Inspect that, along with the ground cables and red cables.

Thanks - But need little more advice

We have cleaned out the wires, opened the fuse box, and checked everything thouroughly.
Maybe...does Seadoo have a reset system if a fuse is blown ?
We did find one Gauge fuse, that had blown, and replaced it.
SO now when I put the key in , we get a loud "bleep" sound, no engine starts..but the lights are on and the engine gauge is showing red light yet there is oil in the tank .. .
Maybe...does Seadoo have a reset system if a fuse is blown ?
There is fuel and most of the engine is covered in Marine crc
No sign still of starting the engine -
What else to do ? ?

Maybe...does Seadoo have a reset system if a fuse is blown ?
Any one , anywhere with Ideas ? Would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If your not getting 2 beeps it isn't going to turn over or attempt to start. The single beep means the DESS isn't communicating to MPEM. Try cleaning the Dess lanyard cap and Post with soapy water. Don't use anything on the 2 mating surfaces, just leave them dry. If the lanyard cap and Post aren't connecting it might be the problem.

Electrical draamas still

Hi , I found fuse blown , one inside the fuse box and one in the front under the wheel....
Replaced them both - but still getting same result, only one beep -
Is it possible that when I drive out the driveway and water came out the back, moved wires or something ?
And or, is it possible that as those fuses blew, the key needs to be reset ?

I have taken it to a dealer here, but they dont have the software for this boat as its late 90's model. and rotax, Please help !

I had the boat going in the driveway, only dramas happened transporting it .. but we were careful and there was lot of water inside, but not that much considering these boats get rolled and can take a bit of beating sometimes in the surf..\\\

Thanks

Found the HUll details - Need further Help ! !

Hi - finally have found the details of the boat, thanks to great members of this forum.

Underneath the landing Ski board, it is engraved into plastic ,

It is a Seadoo Speedster Bombardier - Twin Rotax Engines...

CEC B3832E7 97 ,
so apparently its a 1997 .

Where and do I need a new MPEM, as I had fuse blown both underneath the steering wheel, and 2 inside the engine fuse box . . .
Reason how and why they blew is unknown still as was running out of water, and as soon as put in calm water, no beeps nothing

Replaced all Fuses, and now get One Beep . . .

What to do next ? ? ?

Please Help you Guru Legends out there !! !

:)

Hi thanks for you rhelp

we have cleaned and done all of forums advise..
The boat gives me long beep .. so mpem fail ..

We checked the resistance etc to the key post, and is 12 v. but as soon as key goes on, it drops down to nothing..
is this easy to fix or ? do I need a new MPEM ?

Also - is it possible at all to hot wire these boats , I am in Vanuatu and very difficult to locate and ship parts here .

thanks for your time .

You can not bypass the MPEM, it controls all the electrical in the seadoo. Did it blow the 5 amp fuse again in the MPEM? If it did chances it does need a new MPEM. Most cases there is a diode in the MPEP that is bad and is causing the power failure. It's not an easy repair as you would have to remove all the black filler in it to find the bad one, then resoldier the correct one back in place. It's not a repair for the light harted. It might be easier just to replace the MPEM. There is a member on the forum that might be able to help and repair it. His name is Mike, his screen name is "all things custom". PM him to see if he can help out.

I noticed you have a second post on the subject of "hot wiring the MPEM", I deleted the duplicate post after I answered your question here.
