Bogging during acceleration

Hello everyone I need some help with my 1995 gtx that has a new motor we took it out a while ago and it ran great for a while but then it all of a sudden started to bog really bad during acceleration and sometimes wouldn’t go past 15 mph then while trying to replace the fuel lines we noticed the neck where the fuel pump clamps on was broken and read somewhere that that causes that same problem so we replaced the fuel tank and it helped a lot but it’s still bogging a little and struggles to get going with 2 people but before the fuel tank replacement it would bog down bad when turning but I that issue is solved now after the new tank. This is Also a new motor with good compression and both carbs are super clean with all new fuel lines and spark plugs. Any info or advice will help

Next time your out, try pulling the choke when it bogs, if this helps then it’s sucking air from somewhere. If it doesn’t help try turning the low speed screw in 1/8 of a turn. Don’t drive it any longer than you need to, only long enough to diagnose.

I also noticed that it got worse the more you rode it then it stared to get better towards the end but I was sick that day so we left early

What did you set the high and low at? You can also che k the voltage at the battery, at rest, start the machine and note voltage at idle and again at 5500 rpm.

Hi

This should be the "default" settings.
so check that, and also check that it for sure have the -95 carbs and that it is a -95.....;) ( I mean if there is new motor, perhaps there also are a newer carb or something else is replaced)

1995 Sea‐doo GTX 19 ‐ 35 LOW‐ 1‐1/4 HIGH‐ 1/4
1996 Sea‐doo GSX 23 ‐ 43 LOW‐ 1 HIGH‐ 0
1997 Sea‐doo GTX 23 ‐ 43 LOW‐ 1 HIGH‐ (MAG‐0 PTO‐1/2)

( 19-35 is pop-off, pressure)
Mag = magneto side cylinder
PTO = power take off cylinder

No the carbs are the oem carbs we did the motor swap ourselves and I set the screws to this position exept of the rich cylinder I turned in one of them an 8th of a turn. We also need to buy a pop off pressure tester

It is also a 95 the serial or vin number (idk what it’s called ) ends with 95

Yes we rebuilt both of them with sbt rebuild kits
Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner.!!!!

SBT kits are garbage and will cause running issues. Same goes for Wonderosa, Venom, Titan etc.

Follow the Carb Rebuild Thread, only Genuine Mikuni parts. SBT are not genuine Mikuni.

Hopefully you kept the original spring for the carb as well? I can never remember which model or spring it is, but there is a spring that was used, I believe in some of the 657x motors that is not available anymore. I could be mistaken for sure here, could be the 657, not sure, but I always keep the original spring.

Yea we kept the old stuff I may try to replace the springs to see if that helps

Aight thanks for the info but the motor is also from sbt but it seems like they where the only option for the motor but since it was from sbt does that mean it’s trash too

So could I put some old parts back in such as the springs to make it run better if so what should I change with the old stuff
You could try it with the original springs, the diaphragm that pushes the needle lever can be wrong on the aftermarket kits as well. It’s my understanding that they will appear and will fit good, but they will not usually push the lever at the correct pressure, I’m assuming due to slightly different tolerance in dimension of the button and the material used which to me is more likely. I’ve always purchased the back to OEM kit from OSD marine. It’s highly rated amongst old Seadoo 2 stroke owners

Ok we will change it out and see if that helps at all

I also noticed that the spark seemed a little week
