I hope all the fathers out there had a good fathers day.
We decided to throw the little boat out on the local rivers around Pittsburgh. Normally, we just put it on one of the local lakes, and use it like a big jetski, but the other day, we decided to use it like a regular boat.
The day started by dropping it in on the south-side, and taking a leisurely cruse to the point. (where the 3 rivers join) The point is also where downtown Pittsburgh is. At the point, there is a very nice park with a large fountain, and on the adjacent bank of the Allegheny river, there is the stadiums for the Pirates, and the steelers. Also, there are museums, a science center, and "The Rivers" casino. (you can tie up at many places to get out, and walk around)
After a little adventuring, we decided to tie up at the docks at Station Square (a local shopping district) to have some lunch. My little girl then decided that she liked the fountains better than the boat. But, eventually, we got back on board, and headed back up the Mon river to a river side water park called "sand castle." When we got there, we shut off the engine, and just took a nice swim.
With the exception of a couple D--- heads at the ramp, as I was waiting to get the boat out... it was a wonderful family day. :hurray:
If you have a good Fathers day story... even if it's not boat related... throw it out for the other fathers to read.
