My boat has been in dry storage ¾ full of gas for about 3 months. Are there fuel additives that I should use or any other measures I should take? I don’t know if fuel can go stale or if I should be concerned about it at all.

Thanks

Yes gas can go bad. I always put stabil in evry tank, because I never know how long it is going to sit. I dont think its gonna be a huge issue at 3 months. Run it down low then fill it up.

I would throw a couple bottles of Heat in it along with a good quality fuel injector cleaner like Techron, a bottle of octane boost wouldn't hurt either.

How long can you store gas before it goes off ?

Depends on how good the fuel was to start with.

3 months in my opinion isn't too bad. If it was in a dry, heated garage... you will be fine. If it was outside in the rain/snow/humitity... then there may be issues.

I would throw in the normal dose of marine Stay-Bil into the tank. No... it won't bring the fuel back to life... but it will help mix in any water that may have collected in the fuel. (and alow it to pass) The problem is... our newer fuels have alcohol in it... and that attracts water.
