Where the heck is the switch/fuse for the bilge pump auto start? I installed a battery charger on the boat and since then the bilge wont kick on when theres water in it.

Stupid question, but I dont have to have the battery switch on for this to work while in storage correct? Any help will be appreciated. Thnx!:willy_nilly:

Some of the boats need the switch on, and some don't. unfortunately, I'm not sure what way yours needs to be.

turn it on, and if it stops after the water is out... then thats your answer.

thnx ill check with seadoo then...did u ever get a chance to check the pics of the gasket that i think is missing?

OK... now I remember. I don't know if there was supposed to be a gasket in that or not... but if you put in a big fat O-ring... it will help seal it up.

My bilge pump wqsnt working while the battery switch was off. I took a hose and put water in the bilge. then I took the red wires off the common post on the battery switch. I touched each one on the hot side until the pump clicked on. I found it and then just put it on the same post as the battery. What is kind of odd is that the same wire powers all the switches in the front of the boat.

thnx 4 ur input...i will try to disconnect also. Once the sun comes down Ill see what needs to happen. I thought that the switch needed to be of during storage.

The switch really should be off when the boat is stored. that is the weird part. I dontknow why they would leave the pump on the side of the switch that gets turned off. It is an easy fix though. Once you figure out which wire it is, move it to the other side of the switch. Then it is always powered by the battery. the switch can still be used, when off, the pump will work.

Checked the fuse 3A and also the wires and everything is good to go. In fact it started working again today.

I disconnected the bilge pump from its holder and flipped it around to take a look and it and it started up. I noticed that there's a small plastic piece in it that water lifts up and this is how it auto starts. It was full of gunk from the water so I cleaned it then turn the battery cutoff switch to OFF and flipped it around again and it started.

I then filled the bilge with water and with the battery switch in off and it worked. So now im good but thanks to all for your suggestions.
